The growing interest in data-driven talent management, or people analytics, is driving much innovation in recruiting. Recruiters no longer rely solely on their gut instincts but are turning to data to find the "right people" for their organizations.

AI recruiting is at the forefront of this transformation. Leading tech companies like LG U+ have successfully harnessed the power of ViewinterHR to create a more efficient hiring process, setting a new standard for recruiting. This success story should inspire confidence in the potential of AI-based recruitment solutions.

Why LG Uplus adopted ViewinterHR

LG U+ adopted ViewerHR to solve several problems in the recruitment process, including ⓐ securing objectivity in assessments, ⓑ difficulty in evaluating individual competencies when hiring new employees, ⓑ time constraints for documents and face-to-face interviews, and ⓓ lack of prior information about applicants.

These issues led to problems such as:

  1. Different evaluation criteria for each evaluation process.
  2. Excellent candidates need to be evaluated correctly.
  3. Excessive evaluation time.
  4. Uncertainty in evaluation factors.

With ViewinterHR, LG U+ wanted to solve these problems and build an efficient and fair recruitment process that satisfied applicants, interviewers, and recruiters.

LG U+'s adoption of ViewinterHR

In early 2019, LG U+ introduced AI document screening and AI video interviews as part of its AI-based recruitment transformation. In this journey, LG U+ partnered with Genesis Labs, a renowned AI solutions provider, to create ViewerHR, a customized AI interview solution.

Genesis Lab's solution analyzes applicants' soft skills, which are trained by AI and analyzed by deep learning. It also adds BEI competency assessment techniques to analyze applicants' behaviours, knowledge, and skills. This is done by analyzing the applicants' responses to specific questions and scenarios, and evaluating their digital thinking skills, including the KMA DX competency indicators, which are essential for digital transformation.

Through this process, LG U+ has completed labelling over 30,000 pieces of video data and is continuously improving its AI solution. To successfully implement AI competency interviews, it's important to have enough data to train an accurate representation of your organization. ViewinterHR has more than 3 million video data, collected from a diverse range of applicants, and boasts the highest number of AI interview-related patents in Korea. We have both a lot of data and the technology to analyze it in the right way, ensuring fairness and objectivity in the recruitment process.

What are the results of the adoption of AI interviews?

ViewinterHR, introduced by LG U+, has revolutionized the recruitment process. By blending AI and recruiters' evaluations into the screening results, we have been able to make truly data-driven decisions. For instance, we have significantly reduced the time spent on initial screening, allowing recruiters to focus more on evaluating the shortlisted candidates.

In particular, the ability to evaluate candidates' non-verbal elements before the face-to-face interview dramatically improves the quality of the recruitment process. The analysis showed a positive causal relationship between candidates with higher soft skills scores and higher BEI competency assessment scores and the pass rate of candidates with higher BEI competency assessment scores. This is the most intuitive example of how ViewinterHR contributes to the objectivity and efficiency of the recruitment process.

AI recruitment solution with fairness and reliability

At ViewinterHR, we are committed to enhancing the fairness and reliability of AI recruitment. The advancement of AI technology is not just about innovation, but also about ensuring ethical and trustworthy solutions. This emphasis on fairness and reliability should reassure the audience about the integrity of ViewinterHR.

ViewinterHR has been evaluated and verified from a third-party perspective by the TTA and the Ministry of Science and ICT. It has been recognized as a company with the most advanced HR AI technology in Korea, with multiple awards and patent applications. This impressive track record should convince the audience of the effectiveness of ViewinterHR.

This is to make AI evaluations more transparent and understandable, and to minimize uncertainty in the evaluation process. 'AI competency interviews' is a unique feature of ViewinterHR, which uses AI technology to assess applicants' competencies based on their responses to specific questions and scenarios. This is why it is important to build a system that goes beyond the limits of deep learning technology and clearly explains how the AI scored. At LG U+, we have implemented ViewinterHR to improve the accuracy of our AI recruitment process and provide fair evaluation opportunities for all applicants.
